Our mission is to offer fellowship by providing networking among our members. We value the principles and practices of fine woodworking by encouraging the technical discussion and development. We promote an appreciation of quality workmanship to the general public by providing access to our products, experience, and design expertise through shows, classes, and other events

Parking is along Mistletoe Rd. off of Siskiyou Blvd. just
south of Tolman Creek Rd. Walk between the two
Blackstone Audio buildings down behind to lower shops
and look for SWG and ‘As You Like It’ signs. We will be
covering the Insight Class, Shop-Chats,
and 2012 show
plans. We share announcements and remind members
about our Merchant Discount Program, Resource List
and other networking topics. A vote for our Officers
and Steering members will also be held.

We like to be able to have current hard copy Members’
Lists available for you at this meeting. SWG
memberships can be paid at this meeting. Bring your
check and get your 2012 card! Yearly fee is $35, but if
you pay before March 1st you will get the $5 discount
($30, what-a-deal!).

Insight into Woodworking classes, 2012!

The Siskiyou Woodcraft Guild (SWG), with its goal of communicating the love and understanding of woodcraft within the Rogue valley, offers its annual ‘Insight Into Woodworking’ program to provide an introductory level of information for beginning and intermediate woodworkers. Classes include Wood properties; milling and elements of furniture design; hand tools and band saws; tool sharpening; jigs and fixtures; routers and shapers; wood carving; Cabinet construction and table saws; wood turning; and finishing.

Instructors are master woodworkers who will lecture and demonstrate basic woodworking tools and techniques in a series of 10 classes offered for $125 per person beginning February 28th, 2012, and running through April at various workshops in the Rogue Valley .  Classes are either Tuesday evenings at 6:30 PM or Saturdays at 10:00 AM.

Russell Beebe's woodcarving classes

Classes in woodcarving,tool modification and sculpture with Russell Beebe. Two beginning classes starting the first week in October (or thereabouts),one class per week,7 sessions. Tuition $265 with own tools,$275 tools provided. These classes cover relief and chip carving,tool modification and honing techniques. The Sculpture class is offered to those who have already taken the beginning class or who are experienced carvers. Professional class tools are available for use. This is a more casual class,no set schedule, students work on individual projects or in common and cost is $30.00 per three hour class. For sculpture we meet 6-9:00 pm Thursdays and possibly Mondays at Russell's shop in Talent. The sculpture classes are ongoing so you can jump in anytime.
