A fine craftsman, Alec’s work includes many different styles. Personally, however, he prefers contemporary and oriental projects.

Alec is especially proud of his new owner-built shop. The building is raised off the ground and has a wood floor, a 10' ceiling and is approximately 1300 square feet.

Alec came to the Rogue Valley looking for new opportunities and fewer crowds. He joined the Guild soon after.

“I began woodworking as a hobby about 30 years ago virtually on a dare from my wife,” says Alec. “About 16 years ago a friend of mine asks me to help him remodel his kitchen and he would pay me to do it. I thought ‘Such a deal!’ and I’ve been woodworking ever since.”

Prior to woodworking Alec worked in the financial industry and was a computer programmer for a time.

Alec knows that customers want to be comfortable in the knowledge that they will get exactly what they are looking for: “I go to great lengths (through discussions, drawings, renderings, and samples) to assure that we both agree on exactly what the final result is to be. And I stay with them until everything is completed to their satisfaction.”
